InterVal is a vocal ensemble based in Bar, Montenegro, founded in 2024. The group brings together eight singers with a shared passion for vocal music — from early polyphony and sacred choral works to contemporary compositions and folk arrangements.

Led by baritone Dmitrii Grinikh, the ensemble focuses on clear ensemble sound, stylistic sensitivity, and careful attention to musical detail. The singers approach music as both an artistic craft and a form of meaningful communication.

The name InterVal has a double meaning: “Inter” stands for international, showing that the group is open to different cultures and musical traditions.“Val” sounds like the word for wave in Russian and Montenegrin, symbolizing sound waves, music, and movement. Together, the name also looks like the word “interval”, an important idea in music — the space between two notes. It reflects both the technical side of singing and the emotional connection between people through music.
